I'll post more details are things materialize, but...
- Wooglet's WILL build out of Seeker's Armguard (but end stats and cost may be different). It won't be the only item that builds out of Seeker's.
- Liandry's is coming. Blackfire Torch will be repurposed.
- New item or two.
Current Dominion AP itemization is centered around BFT and Hextech for the most part, so the goal is to break those up and give more options at similar price points.

Wooglet's is kind of a necessary evil for mages on Dominion and Twisted Treeline right now. That doesn't mean it's fine as-is though. There's going to be a large-scale AP itemization overhaul soon that focuses a bit more on utility over raw damage, and Wooglet's will likely be touched along the way.
Some cool ideas in here (and some crazy ones too heh - MS for RoA users pls no). We're currently discussing AP itemization (and just Dominion itemization in general) right now so we'll take these into consideration. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
ps- If you haven't seen the sticky regarding tear and RoA changes then check it out.
Tip 1: Be a ManWolf
Tip 2: Run Revive and use it on cooldown (most of the time)
Tip 3: AD Malz bot lane
How realistic is it to trigger that upgrade with the new upgrade rates? I personally think you achieve the goal with both changes.
For those coming in from a red tracker, this topic pertains solely to Dominion.
What are the strong items, other than BFT?
What are the weak items?
What holes do mages currently have that need to be filled?
| I was shocked that BFT wasn't touched when the big CDR changes hit. I'd be fine seeing it drop to 15 or even 10, but I would like to see Morello up to 25, and possibly DFG back up to 15. Morello at 25 makes it the big ticket AP CDR item, which is what it used to be. Grail has essentially wiped it off the map at this point, which is why a buff to CDR might make it a more desirable buy for some champions. |
For those of you who don't know ManWolfAxeBoss, he's been working with me on Live and Environment (Maps) teams since last September/October-ish. He hangs out in DD chat, and we queue CS/play in inhouses together pretty often. Anything he comments on in the Dominion forums can be considered "official" for Dominion.
For those coming in from a red tracker, this is for Dominion only!
Tear of the Goddess + Manamune: 8 mana per charge (SR: 4)
Archangel's Staff: 10 mana per charge (SR: 6)
Rod of Ages: 40 seconds per charge (SR: 60)
Champions with persistent drain effects (Singed, Amumu, Swain, Karthus) will charge the new Tear extremely quickly, but it should still help other champs out a bit. Feedback is welcome!
The Diana tweaks currently on PBE will be hitting her fairly hard. We'll see how she's doing after that as we start getting further into the balance process for Dominion.
I'll be working on itemization tweaks alongside the champion stuff, don't worry
| Are you going to make this kind of changes for the ARAM map ? Because we all agree there are some really op champion. 1 quick example is soraka, since we cant heal back to base, if you have some poke and a soraka on your team, you can play smart and win this really easily. |
Nothing with Summoner Spells right now. The first wave will be targeted solely at outliers. We'll evaluate those changes and figure out if we want to take it further afterwards.
It's shipped!
Tech is done, which means the next step is working with our UX and user testing guys to figure out the best way to communicate changes to players. Once we get that done, we'll be ready to roll out the first set of changes.
We were able to nail out ElPolloDiablo's 1k!
Volandum, you are up next man, let me know in game once you are ready!
Should be able to do this tonight or tomorrow, send me an invite! I'm on a losing streak atm tho
Later Ekis, I hope you have a great time over there!
(and that you come on...sometimes?)
I will have to try this Soraka guide out!
Part of my item design philosophy dictates that when you have a strong counter-item, the choice to purchase it (and its benefits) should be directed towards its purpose as a counter. I don't believe in coincidental countering; i.e., being able to build Sunfire on Garen just because it's good on him--and oh by the way, you're now invulnerable to physical damage.
That said, I consider Lightbringer a stopgap solution to the larger issue of champion imbalance discrepancies across different maps.
This is pretty sweet idea
If I'm free I'd totally like to play a few games, I don't have streaming set up...however I have been looking into it, so maybe soon you will see me nub it up!
We had done some community games before with me rickless, and a few other guys which were fun to do! My shifts are very different from others in the company right now, so I don't know how many others play Dominion, or who are some newer people that would be down to play.
Not sure what else right now, but am totally down!

In seriousness though, he does have a point.
With the new guys or guys that rarely play the mode, we as Dom players have to try to get them hooked as much as we are. This is something you guys have been doing really good at already. The DD crew, from the chatters and in-houses up to Feeds/Tootulz themselves, have done some great work to help with this. Sauron's guides are awesome, Elalya's work on the Dominion tier list on Reign of Gaming helps as well, not to mention all the other countless people I'm forgetting (sorry bros).
What could be done to help get the entry-level guys see that concept that Dom isn't just the kills mode? (I know ranked will be brought up, and I'm sorry I don't know what's up with that
) It was on response to Kassadin.
Tech backlog means that the solution is on the works, but resources are limited and there are higher priority tasks for our engineers to work on.
